The First Day

Leave the Saniderm protective barrier on for up to 4 days (nothing longer). Shower as normal, it will protect your healing tattoo from irritants while also allowing it to breathe.

If any blood, ink or plasma leaks from the Saniderm bandage, or you notice any skin irritation from the bandage itself (raised skin and red rash around the border of the bandage) immediately remove the protective barrier and follow the next steps below.

Taking off the Saniderm

After taking off the saniderm, it's important to keep it clean and moisturized. Gently wash your tattoo with fragrance-free soap and warm water, then pat it dry with a clean towel. Allow it to breath for 24 hrs before applying a thin layer of unscented lotion to keep the skin moisturized. Avoid sun bathing, submerging your tattoo in water, and do not pick or scratch it.

Healing Process

The healing process can take up to several weeks, depending on the size and placement of your tattoo. During this time, it's important to keep your tattoo clean and moisturized. Avoid tight clothing that may rub against your tattoo, and do not expose it to direct sunlight or tanning beds. DO NOT scratch or pick at the healing tattoo as this can cause ink to fall out.

We know its itchy… but don't itch it!
